Each Mononofu knife is handmade to order in Japan. Typical lead time is 6-8 weeks from deposit to delivery. We'll keep you updated throughout the process with photos of your knife being made.

We require a 50% deposit ($325) to begin your custom order. The remaining balance is due before shipping. This ensures your slot with the craftsman and covers materials.

Yes. Every Mononofu knife is forged, ground, heat-treated, and finished entirely by hand in Japan. No CNC machines, no automated processes. Each knife is a unique piece made by a master craftsman.

Every Mononofu knife uses VG1 steel, available in two options: VG1 Stainless Steel (Silver) for corrosion resistance and low maintenance, or VG1 Carbon Steel (Black) for superior edge retention and hardness. Choose your preferred steel type when placing your order.

Absolutely. You choose your steel type (VG1 stainless or carbon), blade style (tanto, drop point, clip point, spear point), and handle material (Micarta, olive wood, sculpted wood, paracord). Wood handles are +$50. Every knife includes a black Kydex sheath. Special requests like custom engraving are also available.

Deposits are refundable within 48 hours of placement, before work begins on your knife. Once the craftsman starts your order, the deposit is non-refundable as materials have been committed. See our full refund policy for details.

We currently ship within the United States with free shipping on all knife orders. International shipping may be available on request — contact us for details. All knives ship fully insured with tracking.

Every Mononofu knife ships with: the knife itself, a custom black Kydex sheath, a Certificate of Authenticity documenting the maker and steel, and premium packaging.
